Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX)
The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) is India’s first listed exchange and it operates under the regulatory framework of SEBI (The Securities and Exchange Board of India). It provides secure and transparent trade mechanisms for trading in agricultural commodities (pulses, grains, edible oils, etc.), energy (natural gas, crude oil, etc.), base metals (aluminium, copper, steel, etc.), precious metals (gold, silver, etc.). It provides a comprehensive platform for online trading, settlement, risk control and clearing of commodity derivative trades.
It works in two sessions per day, i.e., the morning session and the evening session. The morning session is between 10:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. and the evening session is between 05:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. during summer and between 05:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. during winter.

The MCX has announced the list of trading holidays for this year. It is closed on certain public holidays and on a few state-specific holidays, apart from national holidays. Since MCX is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra Day is an MCX holiday. There are 19 MCX holidays this year, out of which 13 are on weekdays and 6 are on weekends.
